A travel on high altitude lands where Sherpa population use to live; a trekking in the land of the highest peaks on earth; a proper guided expedition to Mera Peak summit 6461 m.
Our trail will give us the opportunity to walk some of the more remote valleys of Nepal and, in the mean time, provide us a proper acclimatization, essential for Mera Peak attempt. Our journey will lead us back in Lukla, through the Khumbu valley, in a breathtaking landscape, surrounded by the view, amongs other, of Lhotse, Everest, Pumori, Cho Oyu, Makalu, Nuptse e Ama Dablam.
Departure from Milan in the late afternoon.
Landing in Kathmandu in the morning and transfer to the hotel. -/-/D
Tour of the city. Half board in Hotel. B/-/D
Domestic flight to Lukla 2880 m, starting point of our trek. By the day we reach Chutanga camp 3300 m, where we spend the night. B/L/D. Elevation gain 500m – 3h
From Chutanga camp we follow a steep trail to Zatrawa Là pass 4600 m, go over it and descend to Thuli Kharka camp 4400m. B/L/D. Elevation gain 1300m / loss 200m - 6/7h
We walk down along the Hinku Khola valley. Once we get the 3600 m, we start gaining altitude until we reach Gote camp 3800m.B/L/D. Elevation gain 300m / loss 900m - 5/6h
We walk up the valley, reaching, after some hours, the nice village of Tangnang 4336m. B/L/D. Elevation gain 600m – 4/5h
Rest and acclimatization day. B/L/D
We continue our journey, surrounded by Mera Peak rock walls and glaciers. Today we reach Khare 4900m, where we set up our campsite. B/L/D. Elevation gain 650 m - 4/5h
We reach Mera Là camp and set up our advanced camp at 5500 m, ready for the next day summit attempt. B/L/D. Elevation gain 500m - 4/5h
We plan to summit with the first daylight so, during the night, we leave the camp and start the climbing. In the afternoon we descent in the Hunku Valley, where we spend the night at the camp, located at 4900 m. B/L/D. Elevation gain 1000m /loss 1500m - 10/12h
Rest day. Extra day for the summit attempt in case of bad weather on day11. B/L/D
We walk along the Hunku Valley. Our path run the middle on 7000 peaks, it gains gently some altitude and lead us to Hunku camp 5200m, where we spend the night. B/L/D. Elevation gain 100m / loss 400m - 4/5h
We gain some more altitude and reach the marvelous Pokhari lakes, go over it to our next camp, located at 5500 m. B/L/D. Elevation gain 300m - 4/5h
Through the Amphu Lapcha pass, located at 5845m, we reach the Khumbu valley. Climbing up the pass is quite difficult but, for sure, spectacular: we’ll be surrounded by huge mountains, among others, Baruntse m 7220, Ama Dablam m 6856, Makalù m 8463, Lothse m 8501. B/L/D. Elevation gain: 300m / loss 850m - 7/8h
We walk the Khumbu valley. We can admire, around us, some of the most beautiful mountains in the world: Pumori, Nuptse, Lothse, Everest. We finally relax in our lodge, in Pagboche 4000m, where we spend the night. B/L/D. Elevation gain 1000m - 6/7h
On an easy wide trail, we continue walking down the Khumbu valley and reach Namche Bazar 3440m, the main trading center of the Kumbu region. B/L/D. Elevation gain 400m / loss 1000m - 5/6h
Last day of trek: an easy and wide path lead us to Lukla. B/L/D. Elevation gain 900m / loss 300m - 6/7h
Domestic flight to Kathmandu. B/-/D
Today we have some extra time to see the sights, go shopping in the bazaar or simply relax in the city center. In the evening, transfer to the airport and flight back to Italy. B/-/D

Basic skills in using crampons and ice-axe are required. In order for your adventure to be enjoyable, your body needs to be in good working order. Even if the climbing is not technically difficult, length and elevation gain of the trip, combined with prolonged exposure to high altitude, require good physical shape and should not be underestimated.

WHAT’S INCLUDED: Support and assistance of an Italian certified UIAGM IFMGA Mountain Guide. Services provided by local tourist agency: transfer from and to the airport, Katmandu-Lukla flight, inland transports, trekking and climbing permits fees, half board in hotel in double room in Kathmandu, full board during the hiking (accommodation in lodges or tents); camps facilities: accommodation in 2-person tents, kitchen tent, canteen tent, table, chairs, restroom; porters for the transport of food and equipment, personal porter (max 18kg). Kathmandu guided tour (half day). Travel insurance (luggage, medical assistance, repatriation) provided by Innovation Viaggi.
WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED: International flights, Nepal touristic visa, lunches in Kathmandu, tips, drinks, personal equipment, other optional insurance (high mountain injury, travel cancelation, etc…), everything is not mentioned in “WHAT’S INCLUDED”.
