From mid June to mid September
The Soldier Ridge represents the best approach on this kind of terrain. The easy access from Punta Indren gives you the possibility to climb it in one day.
The ridge, never too exposed, offers a magnificent view of the southern side of Monte Rosa and the beautiful Piode Glacier. It's a great drive test to try hardest climbing.

Climb to the top
Meeting with the Mountain Guide in Alagna Valsesia at 7:00 o’ clock. After the check of the equipment you will go up with the cable car untill P.ta Indren m 3273. From here you’ll start walking eastward till the old station of Punta indren and then along the Bors glacier until the begin of the ridge. From there , climbing about 400m along rock steps and some short part on snow (45 °) you’ll reach the top of Punta Giordani. The way down is very easy along the Regular route on the Indren glacier
Walk up and down about 800 m, 6 hours.

TECHNICAL INFO: The climb to Punta Giordani along the Soldier ridge represents a great classic of Monte Rosa. The climbing difficulties are on ice / snow up to 45 ° and many rock steps up to III °. However, the biggest difficulties can be avoided crossing the most difficult steps on the southern side.
